Why William Clark & Sons

We are passionate about producing fabrics ethically and sustainably. All the linens we use are produced by weavers locally in Northern Ireland before being brought to our factory in Mid Ulster for processing and printing.

What is Adhesive POWDER POINT?

Precision is an area of quality William Clark & Sons thrive in. Our adhesive powder point coating is a technique used in textiles that requires precision and attention to detail to apply adhesive powders in specific areas of a fabric.

IMPROVING THE STENGTH AND DURABILTY OF FABRIC

Our state-of-the-art machinery applies the adhesive powder in a controlled amount onto a fabric in the form of small dots or points, creating a pattern of adhesive dots on the surface of the fabric.

The purpose of adhesive powder point coating is to create a temporary bonding effect between two layers of materials, such as a lining and an outer layer of fabric, or between different types of fabrics that may not naturally adhere well to each other. The adhesive powders used in this technique are typically thermoplastic or heat-activated, meaning that they become sticky and bond when heated.

Our adhesive powder point coating process is generally done in conjunction with a heat press or a bonding machine, which applies heat and pressure to activate the adhesive and bond the two layers of material together. This process can improve the strength and durability of the fabric, as well as prevent the formation creases.

PROUDLY BASED IN NORTHERN IRELAND

Following the UK’s exit from the European Union (EU), Northern Ireland continues to have access to the Great Britain (GB) and the EU markets. This means that William Clark & Sons manufacturing capabilities can help benefit from two of the world’s largest markets and is free to operate from customs declarations, rules of origin certificates and non-tariff barriers on the sale of goods to both GB and the EU.
