Linen : Soft as Silk Strong as Steel

Established in 1736, on the banks of the River Clady in the village of Upperlands set in the centre of Northern Ireland, William Clark has a rich history of weaving, dyeing and finishing. The traditions and skills of generations past have been blended with twentieth first century technology to ensure the high standards of quality, innovation and service are met.

Clark's expansion from it's Irish rural base into Italy, Greece, USA and the Far East has ensured that today it serves the world's leading tailors and retailers of Apparel and Home Furnishings.
Initially, Clark's expertise has been in the traditional bespoke men's tailoring but has broadened out into womenswear and lighter weight 100% linen shirtings and blouses

Linen Apparel

In today's rapidly changing and highly demanding fashion world, it is essential that the skills of the weaver are complemented by those of the dyer and finisher to bring colour, texture, drape and handle to the ever more sophisticated High Street customer.

William Clark's apparel collection is characterised by a diverse range of fabric qualities and finishes, each individually tailored to suit the needs of the customer. The mill has continued to react successfully to the demands of its markets and has earned a reputation as a leading supplier of linen products. The traditional menswear business has now been balanced to incorporate wool, cotton and viscose blends for the Autumn/Winter collections. We have recently complemented our suiting weight range 20's, 25's, 30's linen lea with an extensive range of fine shirting/blouse weights in piece and yarn dyes.

We have a stock program in limited qualities with an extensive range of colours, with minimums of 500 meters per colour and lead times of 8 weeks from final lab dip approval depending on type of finishing. We also offer many different finishes such as Airo, sanforised, brushed, calendered, coated and laminated.

The Company's customer portfolio spans top designers and major retailers throughout the international fashion arena and the more traditional mens and womenswear markets. Each Individual customer request is given the specific attention and care it deserves.
