Inspection

Our trained operators will visually inspect material, tagging minor imperfections and cutting out major faults. Our quality tolerance is 10 minor faults per 100mts and no clusters.

Finishing

Approximately 100 metres into finishing, the run machine is stopped and a cutting is taken from material to be checked for:

  • Weft straightness
  • Shade
  • Stiffness
  • Tear strength
  • Handle
  • Appearance
  • Shrinkage

If the operator is satisfied he will continue the run if not he will make the necessary adjustments and retest after 100 metres.

Can Drying

Cutting is taken from beginning and end of each batch, approximately 50 metres from each end, and is checked for shade and shade continuity, across and end to end.

Material is visually inspected as it passes through the machine with operator comments being recorded on the works order record sheet.

Dye

Material is visually inspected for faults.

At end of scouring cycle material is assessed for presence of size and the materials wettability.

At end of specified dying cycle material is assessed for shade by comparing a cutting to a cutting from standard at same point in the process.

If shade is not acceptable adjustments would be made to improve to match standard.

Once the dye house manager is satisfied with the shade and appearance he will authorise unloading of the jig.

Cuttings are stored for future reference.

Material is visually inspected as it passes through the machine with operator comments being recorded on the works order record sheet.

Laying Down

First bale is checked for width.

As material is laid down it is visually inspected for faults, stains and any other variations.

Width is checked at each new bale.

Material is checked to ensure face sides match.

Goods Reciept

1 metre of each batch of base material is provided to our Quality Control team to assess:

  • Width
  • Weight
  • Yarn count
  • Visual appearance
  • Tear strength

This is assessed against spec or previous batches.
